Supply List
All students should bring what they need to be successful with their from-home curriculum, including books, worksheets, pencils, electronic devices, rulers for math, calculator, etc. on a daily basis depending on what they are working on that day.
Supplies do *not* need to be new. Students supplies should be labeled and in a container:
- Markers
- Crayons
- Pencils
- Gluesticks (no liquid glue)
- Eraser
- Scissors
- A folder with pockets and brads
- A blank composition book
- A backpack/bag
- Lunch (see below for more details)
Students grades 3-6 may be asked to read some novels, which you will need to either buy or check out from the library, downloaded on a Kindle, etc.
All students should keep a change of clothes in their backpack, just in case. We do play outside when it is rainy and messy, so please send rain coats/jackets/etc. as appropriate.
A daily peanut and banana free cold lunch and non-spill water bottle, and a snack if they get hungry in between. No student should bring liquid milk or energy drinks. If you choose to send juice, soda, coffee, etc., please ensure that these do not cause behavioral changes in your child. If we notice an issue, we reserve the right to refuse sodas, coffees, etc. Please pack foods your child will eat neatly without a big mess and things they like! Full bellies are always better than pretty lunches.
Students may bring ONE toy for free play time per day. If you bring a toy, note that other people may touch it. We play outside and engage in nature with all of our heart! That means toys may get dirty or lost. We are not responsible for student’s belongings. With this in mind, don’t bring your expensive or very favorite thing with you. Bring things that you want to engage in messy, nature centered play with. The toy or personal belonging may only come out for free play time, and must go back in a backpack at other times.
If a student wants to bring a wobble cushion for their chair, bouncy bands for the chair legs, or a lap desk to use on the floor, a pillow to sit on the floor, noise canceling headphones, etc, they are welcome to do so as long as it’s a useable item for learning and not a distraction to others. Teachers reserve the right to refuse items that disturb the learning environment for others. Our goal is to create an environment where everyone can thrive!
